Lighten up!
Firstly the warmer weather can mean a slight change in texture is required, go for a lighter moisturiser for the face something still hydrating such as the Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream, and for the body an oil is great as it will really soak into the skin and keep it hydrated but again feel a bit lighter than a rich balm, the Elemis Japanese Camellia Oil is my favourite this time of year as its so light and such a subtle fragrance so it doesn't clash with any perfumes or fragrance your wearing.
Scrub away!
I have already started on my fake tan habit as I'm starting to bare a little more than my face and hands! So exfoliation is key to keeping it looking natural and stop the skin from looking dull. Exfoliate the face and body twice a week, Elemis Skin Buff is great and I personally love to mix it with my cleanser just to soften it slightly, or if you have more of a sensitive skin go for the Gentle Rose Exfoliator. For the body you just can't beat a salt scrub to really get rid of those dry patches. The Elemis Lime and Ginger Salt Glow if perfect for a zingy citrus scrub.
Get out that Body Brush!
Find that body brush that you probably stopped using around the end of last summer! Body brushing is THE best way to get the skin ready for summer, it gets rid of dead skin cells, helps the body flush out toxins, leaves the skin feeling soft and literally should only take 2 minutes! Always do it on dry skin before showering or bathing, the Elemis Body Brush is made up of cactus bristles and if you don't get it wet and look after it, will last for years!
Protect, Protect, Protect!
I do have a habit of turning into the sun-cream police in the summer but it frustrates me so much to see people knowingly damaging their skin, the bright ball in the sky known as the sun will damage your skin whether its hot or not, whether your on a beach in the Bahamas or in your back garden!! (lecture over haha) so use a good SPF of no less than 30 to keep the skin protected, the lobster look suits no one. The Ultrasun sun-care range is great for all including kids as its light and easy to apply and lasts all day without the need to reapply so you only need to do it once in the morning and your protected all day.
Go easy on the coverage!
I find this time of year requires less coverage when it comes to your make up, not only does it feel more comfortable as the weather gets warmer but it looks more fresh. I move onto the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel Cream to give a medium lightweight coverage, it has a dewy finish to give the skin a glow and has SPF 30 in it so a 2 in 1!
